Especially for the romantically inclined
"Anniversary Cottage" Built in 1865 by the Joll family, Anniversary Cottage is reputed
to be Havelock’s earliest cottage. In
the 1970’s the cottage was saved from demolition by well known architect John Scott
and moved to its current position on a sunny rise over looking a small valley. Today
the refurbished cottage in it’s tiny ‘olde worlde’ garden setting, evokes a romantic
time when life was slow and summers long and blissful.
Winter or summer Anniversary Cottage is a perfect honeymoon retreat
or romantic hideaway. Carefully furnished to the colonial era, it features
original works of art. The cottage comprises a living room with French doors
opening directly to a delightful outdoor courtyard with alfresco dining area. Inside
the dining room table seats eight. The open plan kitchen opens on to the sunny
bricked veranda, perfect for breakfast, kitchen is fully equipped with oven and
hob, frig, range hood, dishwasher and insinkerator. Upstairs are two generous double bedrooms each with their
own balcony. There are two bathrooms, one upstairs, and one down, which also has
a washing machine.
The cottage is now, for the first time, available for home stay accommodation.
